Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 (NMCB 1), also known as the "First NCB," is a United States Navy Seabee battalion that specializes in construction and engineering projects in austere and challenging environments. The battalion was established in 1942 during World War II and has since participated in various military conflicts and humanitarian missions around the world.
NMCB 1 is primarily composed of Seabees, or Naval Construction Force personnel, who are trained in a variety of construction trades and skills, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and heavy equipment operation.
